Setting the table for a delightful dinner
Spring and brighter days are getting closer with the beautiful light, colours and temperatures that we so long for. At Spring time we start moving outside and as the days get longer, we tend to have family and friends over for dinner more often. We constantly look for inspiration on how to set an amazing dinner table characterized by personality, season, and style - and how to bring subtle touches of nature into the setting.
Let us show you how to easily give your dinner table a touch of Spring time and set a table that will make your guests feel special and loved.
Check out some of our ideas and get inspired for your next table setting.
Bring nature to the table
We love those soft and subtle colours inspired by the nature surrounding us. Give your dinner table a light and elegant look with tablecloths in the colours flint grey, off white or pure cashmere. Choose a plain tablecloth and add vases with character and small trinkets to give your table a touch of personality. Bring nature to the table by adding flowers picked in your garden or some branches from the woods.
Rethink the way you combine new and old, colours and materials, and even part of the menu in your tablesetting. Choose a starter dish that can be served before your guests arrive and will look as a part of the table setting. Or wrap newly backed bread in a linen napkin with a ribbon and a rosemary twig and add a printed menu to each seating to create a restaurant look.
Browse our wide selection of tablecloths and find your new favourite.
Dinner for two - or more
To set a more casual table use placemats or table runners instead of tablecloths. Whether your table is a wooden, rustic table or a smooth, classic table the contrast between table and fabric will give the setting a nice casual look. Give the table a gorgeous, feminine look and choose a placemat or runner with details. If you want to go for a more classic look go with a plain fabric. Add your favourite spring flowers - go light and airy for a subtle look or go for contrasting colours to make it more interesting. Combining the placemat with the exactly right tableware is key. Be a little creative picking the tableware and try combining different shapes and materials. The Amera tableware series will with its reactive glazing add extra details and personality.
Give your dinner table a nice spring vibe with artificial flowers
The green colours from plants and flora breathe life into every home and especially to the dinner table. With some gorgeous flowers here and there you can give your entire home a lovely spring vibe.
With only a few vases and 3 or 4 large flower heads you can make a flower table decoration that will leave your guests in awe. In spring and summer use wild flowers from the side of the road as the base for your decoration. Find the ones that have a light and airy look and mix whites and yellows. Add just a few large flowerheads and put som berry branches in a vase. Et voila - your table looks amazing. In winter time where access to the wild flowers is limited use eucalyptus branches and perhaps some artificial flower heads. It will look just as amazing.
Play with the emotive and organic shapes of artificial flowers and make your table settings delightful and stylish. Don't hold back - find your own favourites or browse some of our lovely artificial flowers.
Time for ice cream
Who dosen't love ice cream during the summer time?! And as the saying goes "you eat with your eyes first", so why not serve the delicious, cold, and creamy ice cream in a way that will ewoke all of the senses. We like to serve a delicious ice cream sorbet in a smoked coloured cocktail glass. We used the cocktail glass from our Victorinne series and the dessert just looks elegant and yummy.
Play with your servings - why settle for the traditional bowl or tray - maybe you can decorate lovely cheese tapas on a wooden chopping board or on a majestic etagere? The possibilities are endless and we encourage you to try out different ways of serving your dishes. Show your personality!
